Happy Hour Round Up is a map of happy hours. This page says what we keep, what we don't, and who else sees it. It describes what the app actually does, not what a template says an app might do.

What we keep

• Who you are, as an id. When you sign in, our database stores an account id from Clerk, our sign-in provider. Your email address, name and profile photo stay with Clerk. They are not in our database.
• Where you asked us to look.Each round-up records the center point and radius of the area you tapped, so we know what ground has been covered and don't charge you twice for it. That is the area on your screen, not a trail of where you have been.
• Your saved spots, and your credit balance and purchases.
• Photos you send us. If you submit a happy hour from a photo, we keep the image and read it to pull out the specials.
• What happens in the app. Screens opened, round-ups started, purchases made. These are tied to your account id if you are signed in, or to a first-party cookie if you are not, so that one visitor counts as one visitor.

What we don't keep

• Your IP address. We read it for a moment to stop one script flooding us with requests, and never write it down.
• Your location in the background. The app asks for location only to center the map on you, and only while you are using it. There is no background tracking and no location history.
• Your email address, in our own systems. Clerk has it because you signed in; we hold an id that points at it.
• Anything sold to anyone. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Who else is involved

Running the app means other companies handle some of this on our behalf:

• Clerk signs you in and holds your email, name and profile photo.
• Apple, RevenueCat and Stripe take payments. We never see your card. We are told a purchase happened and for how much.
• Googletells us which venues exist near a point and draws parts of the map. We keep only Google's id for a place, never their descriptions, ratings or photos.
• Vercel and Neon host the app and its database. Photos you submit are stored with Vercel.
• Anthropic's models read restaurant websites and your submitted photos to pull out the specials.

Venues, not people

Most of what we store is about bars and restaurants, gathered from their own public websites. Our crawler identifies itself as HappyHourRoundUpBot and honors robots.txt. An owner who wants us to stop can say so at /bot.

Deleting your account

Email us and we will delete your account and everything attached to it: saved spots, submissions and photos, credit history, and the activity records tied to your account id. Purchase records that tax law requires us to keep are the exception, and they carry no personal detail beyond the amount and the date.

Children

Happy Hour Round Up is about places that serve alcohol and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under the age this app is rated for.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
